HI!
My Name is Khyron.
I was wondering if any of you guys, can give me a guie with the whole steps to instal JOO!BB.
Thanks
Hi Khyron,
I know first steps are not easy sometimes and my previous poster may have more experience - that's why he kept his reply maybe pretty short. But to help you anyway, I can at least point to the Joo!BB Download information:
Please download Joo!BB Component and Joo!BB Editor and install the Editor first. Then publish the Joo!BB Editor in Plugin Manager. After that you may install the Joo!BB Component. Please note, that you always need the latest version of Joo!BB Component and Editor!
The installation of the editor plug-in and component can be very easily done via your Joomla admin login (backend), by using the top menu: Exensions -> Install/De-install.
Just make sure to follow the recommended sequence and steps, like described above. Check if your server is running MySQL 5.xx. I have had issues installing and running Joo!BB until I switched to the latest MySQL version.
Although I am impatient to start my own Joo!BB forum right away (my fandom is already demanding it) you and I need to keep in mind the forum is still in Beta state. So further changes on the database are likely while pursuing to the first stable release.
Greetings,
Thomas
PS: Joo!BB rocks!
Thank you.
I will try.
But I have a problem when I am loading the component the page give a error, I think that is from my server but is a pay server they should be good.
I use 100webspace.com do you think is good?
please take a look at my page www.khyron.org
so I can know your opinion about how I use joomla. thank you
As mentioned steps
I have installed the editor first then publish it then i installed the Component and i get the message that it is successfully installed
But i couldn't find it in my home page, I can see it in the administrator page under Components but when i press on it i get the below message
"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /hermes/web09b/b613/******/htdocs/joomla/ar/administrator/components/com_joobb/views/user.php on line 401"
the link is www.aaakingdom.com/joomla/ar
Khyron,
It sounds like you are getting database errors while attempting to install. See this link for a workaround as to how to install directly from server, as it usually solves those issues.

King,
You need to create a menu link in Joomla to take you to the joobb forum, it won't auto create. You need to customize your own Joomla template.
BUT, if you can't get to the joobb setup from the components section of the joomla administration page, then you have bigger issues. Did you verify that you are running Mysql 5 and PHP 5 or greater?
You should not get the problem that you are describing.
Jeff
Hi! jhetrick62
ok.
I update joomla but I still getting a error when I trying to install the component:
500 internal server error
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, support@100webspace.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
how can I know what version of MYSQL I am using.?
Hi Khyron,
many providers do not allow a longer script perform. Maybe you try to upload Joo!BB via FTP on your server first (e.g. /tmp) and then try to install from there.
Hi KingAdil,
Jeff (jhetrick62) mentioned, that PHP 5 is needed. Please make sure you are running PHP 5. As I saw, Joomla already uses PHP 5 features too. So you will need it. Sorry.
Kind regards,
Robbie
PS: Thanks to all other for the great support. I'm really happy with you guys! Very good job.
Kyron,
If you need to break down the install script, here is the first step you should attempt and I have to do mine this way every time.

I will search my archives for the other post as to how to edit the xml scripts in case you have to resort to that.
