Post Search Integration

I was previously using FireBoard and have decided to go with Joo!BB instead. While I was trying to integrate FireBoard, one of the things I noticed was that the site search didn't search the Forum content. I tracked down an extension that included the Forum in the site search http://opensource.miniola.com/index.php/fireboard-addons/37-fireboard-forum-addons/44-fireboard-search-plugin-joomla-15-native

It would be nice if Joo!BB was searchable in the general site search.

I am sure once JooBB stable (or RC) is released, other developers will start releasing add-ons for it, in the mean while maybe you could request those guys to code a search plugin for it.

Or perhaps before it is stable. These are kind of quick and dirty, but I did one for v.7 and one for v.9. I'll admit the one for v.9 is a little rough, I ended up rolling back to a v.7 install I had already tweaked. Didn't have much luck with v.9, but I think that is at least in part due to my config and an 'unclean' install over remnants of a previous version.

The v.9 version doesn't do anything with bbcode tags, but show them outright in the results. I had to do a lot of extra includes in the v.7 one that I wasn't too fond of, but so it goes. If anything maybe these will be a good starting point for someone.

Well, maybe not, I can't get the attachment to work. Anyway, you can find these over in the joomla code area at: http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joobb/tracker/?action=TrackerItemEdit&tracker_id=5714&tracker_item_id=15711
