Post HTML Content in post text

Hi Robbie,

We have integrated your package into a shipping site and are using it as a private communication center for each customer. However, the final step in integration is to post a message with active HTML content that contains a button the customer can click to pay for their services.

I tried to use the JHTMLContent class to display the post content but it seems that the html tags are being stripped on save. Can you give me some direction as to where this is happening and how we might accomplish this?

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Hi Scott,

as I can remember, the Joomla Framework strippes HTML tags on save. But for more details I need to have a look on it. Currently I'm at work, so I cannot spend much time at private things. Angel

Enabling/Disabling HTML in posts is a feature I want to implement since the first alpha releases. So I think, it will be available soon.

Kind regards,
Robbie

I will investigate the Joomla framework further. Editors like JCE and Tiny MC allow tags in their content so there must be a fairly simple solutiion.

It would be nice if you could make it so administrator used the editor specified in their Joomla user profile.

I will post my findings here if I find something before you do.

Thanks for your quick response.

Hi,

Facing same issue.

All HTML and javascript tags are stripped when submitting posts.

Even though I uses the Code Tag, it doesn't work.

As far as I know the the solution has not yet been implemented.
Is it an ohter way to solve this issue meanwhile please?

Thanks for your efforts and great component.

BR,

Through my experience in using Joomla, if it is a framework issue, this can be overridden in the configuration. I have added HTML and other scripting languages in Joomla Directly in the article system so I don't know if it would work on the Joo!BB message board, but you could always give it a try.

How you can override this is to login to your admin control panel of Joomla, goto the Joomla Configuration setting of the site and toggle the editor to Editor - No Editor, so when you go to the articles you wont get a WYSIWYG Editor but a plain text box area. Here you can input all your html scripts and other language scriptings.

Though having this setting turn on like this might become a threat if set permanently to No Editor, so it is wise to set it back to an editor for security reasons.

Also, I haven't personally tested this but Robbie is the Admin and so he know best with his software....
