Good evening all.
Firstly let me start by saying how awesome this looks. I have been looking at various 'bridges' for my site, but this is much better. Great work.
In regards to my problem, I have looked through the various 'Installation Problem' posts but I cant seem to find anyone having the same issue as me.
I have both the 'editors-bb_0.7.1' file and the 'com_joobb_0.7.6' file. I am running Joomla 1.5.7 and MySQL etc all meet the required requirements.
The 'editors-bb_0.7.1' plugin uploads and installs fine. Once installed I enable this plugin as per the instructions.
When I move on to the 'com_joobb_0.7.6' upload I get the following after about 3 minutes of waiting;
Code
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

A 404 error would suggest that the link to JooBB is incorrect, please paste a link to your installation of JooBB.

Hi Chris B, thanks for the response.
I don't really know what you mean (sorry - it is first thing in the morning after all).
I dont have a link to the Installation of JooBB. I am using the 'Install/Uninstall' option within Joomla itself. I browse, select the file and hit 'Upload and Install' and then after a few minutes it dies.
I installed various other components late last night with no problem at all.
I was wondering if there was a way I could FTP the files across and install from there?
Roo, yes you can ftp it and install from there. Your webhost or ISP may be blocking something vital. Lot's of those types of issues on Go-Daddy as I have to navigate them myself.
FTP into your webhost and move to the joomla directory. There you will find a /TMP directory and I would stick it in there after you unzip it on your local machine. Just upload all files and directories.
Then choose to install/uninstall and pick "Install from Directory" and point it to your path to the /TMP file so mine looks like this:
/home/content/j/h/html/camping/tmp
"camping" is my joomla directory as I use this install to maintain info for a campers group.
Goodluck,
Jeff
Jeff,
Many thanks for your assistance. I uploaded the Unziped files into the TMP file and installed from there. It has worked great.
Should I now delete the files it has left in /TMP? Or are these needed?
Thanks again for your help. I am sure I will have more questions the more I play around.
Roo
@Kris,
many thanks for the compliment.
You can delete the files in /tmp. Those are needed for the installation only.
@Jeff and Chris,
many thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Robbie
ooops I am sorry for not reading your first post properly, I thought the problem you were having was that you had installed JooBB and your menu link to it was producing a 404
