I am wondering what is the license of the software as it is not really clear?
In JED it says LGPL.
In the front page it says it is not Open Source.
All files are marked as GPL.
And the project is hosted in joomlacode (where basically only GPL extensions are accepted).
Just wondering
Hi Ivo,
Joo!BB is released under GPL as Freeware.
Please correct me, when I'm wrong, but in my eyes GPL is not equal Open Source. The author can release a product under the GPL and make some limitations. For example Joo!BB. Joo!BB is freeware, everybody can use it for free. What I do not allow is, to make changes on it and than redistribute it. Therefore it's not Open Source! Of course you are allowed to make changes to it by yourself on your site.
Kind regards,
Robbie

Robbie,
Am I clearly understood, that I can not modify any existing part of your software (for example module or some changes in code to make it better) and then post it to community?
This really belongs in the Support Area with a new topic. Search there for "system requirements".

Just making sure. I am currently using the previous version to 0.7.7. I really like it. i am also happy about the new version.
My Question: If i upload this new version, will I lose the current data I have in my joo!BB? If I get wiped out then this new upgrade won't help me.
Gerry,
YES you WILL LOOSE the data. See this thread and my post at the bottom for answers.
