Private Messages (PM) integration

Hi all,

I would like to start a discussion about PM integration. As I don't have any experiance with PM components for Joomla it would be nice to read some opinions...

In my eyes it makes no sense to implement all available messaging systems.

What do you think? What are your favorites?

Hello Robbie,

I tried JAM and UDDEIM.

JAM has some problems with the templates you've to load and you need to install plugins for editors. Not a pms working at once.

UDDEIM has more to install but is working at once.

Both are working with CD 1.2

I prefer UDDEIM

My vote is for uddeIM 1.5 and Jim Reloaded

Just dont bother with any greedware, just opensource and freeware

I use uddeIM and it works fairly well. I haven't upgraded to 1.5 yet but will do so in the near future. My folks use it frequently and it integrates with Community Builder well.

Hi Robbie,

I am using UDDEIM on my Joomla installation already, which works well as a stand alone PMS and in combination with CB. Not sure if it is really necessary to implement a PMS into JooBB. If I would have the choice to implement it and/or to work on a stable and first level production release of the current state, I would choose last.

For sure Uddeim is the best one.

I think we needed simplest solution - a small icon under avatar linking to Uddeim compose feature.
