Hi Robbie,
Is JooCM going to be released with the next version of JooBB or is it going to be released sooner?
Many Thanks
Joobb is Great! - Thanks to Robbie and everyone else!
Robbie,
Will JCM be compatible with current 0.7.7 Joobb database structure?
Any chance I can get the database changes to Joobb this week to work on porting 0.7.7 or at least an copy of the database structure and I will figure out the changes?
Thanks for all of the fine work and your time on this project!

Sorry. There are some changes. Please have a look at the current svn OR download the Joo!BB Prototype.
No, I have to thx all of you guys!
Kind regards,
Robbie
Ok, So I will have to upgrade to new joobb at the same time I implement the JCM.
Just checking.
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
yes, but it's for the last time! I promise! Since release 0.9.0 updates (also DB) will be supported!
Kind regards,
Robbie
It's all good Robbie! I'm starting to test a database migration. I will post my results for others that may need it. Not sure if I will have it done by this weekend or not as I'm fairly busy right now, but maybe as I have to migrate my own stuff.
I'm assuming the following logic and someone can shoot me down if they disagree.
1. Migrate all user information from old JooBB data into JooCM as much as matches up. Any new fields will have to be dealt with as well as new Avatars will probably have to be selected by the users.
2. Migrate all pure JooBB information left over into the new data formats for JooBB
3. This way the users will be auto-loaded I'm hoping, but I have to pull out Community Builder first I'm believing so as to not replicate. I need the user id's to come over properly as I need them for the old post information.
4. I expect to then be able to have all old posts, topics and categories migrate fine.
I tested registration last night and it appears that it did not register properly (maybe I did something wrong) when I attempted to use JooCM to register for the site, but when I used Joomla built in registration, it migrated perfectly over to JooCM, does anyone else see different results?
Still working through some of this so any feedback from your experiences is great.
Robbie, I didn't see any possible user settings for the messaging which I assume is UddeIM as I also use this. I'm wondering if it will conflict at all? Currently it isn't working as I didn't have UddeIM installed on this testbed, but I do have it live on my production site with UddeIM settings. So I'm assuming that you still need to install UddeIM and use it's settings adjustments?

I just wanted to say that this is excellent work and I am most excited for the next release to come out. I tried lots of forums and none of them impressed me as much as this. Very smooth, easy to navigate and just the right amount of features. Other forums are so clunky and this one is sweet. I do have a suggestion. Can the search results, just show the title of the post and be in reverse order? Right now, the newest post is at the top, so you are reading the answer to a question you haven't seen yet. That would be great. Anything I can do to help? I have a site I would love to use this on an want to release it about mid march. I know this is still in testing phase, but so far it has less bugs than some other "stable" releases. You need to set up a donation link Robbie, I would toss some $$ your way for this excellent work.
Cheers!
Hello All,
I just found this forum and the new jooBB and I am looking forward to the stable release but, I am curious as to my ability to import posts and users from another source such as yahoo!!groups. Will this be possible if I have the old posts in a SQL dump or CSV format?
Cheers,
David
http://www.classicTEK.org
i wish i wish...
maybe a function to add rankimages for the SPECIAL RANKS like admin, private etc
and maybe more GROUPS...
i have a clanpage... need a group for trialmember, fullmember, honorarymember, admins, warmanager etc
i want to have boards for some groups which are not shown for other groups...
with more groups this would work WITHOUT community builder or something?
regards
David,
If you understand how to work sql using either command line or phpmyadmin, surely you can set-up a file to import the posts as long as you populate the proper fields within the file structure and then add the corresponding users to the JooCM so that they relate to the posts.
Manual work, but it can be done.

Just thought I would mention: There is still a bug with being able to access posts that you don't have permissions for by changing paramters in the URL.
For instance, If I have:
http://www.somedomain.com/index.php?option=com_joobb&view=topic&topic=4&Itemid=58
As a publicly viewable post, if I go and change "topic=x" to any number, I can fish through all the posts on the forums, even private forums that are not visible.

Thank you for the report. Is solved in svn. Will be available in 0.9.1.
Kind regards,
Robbie
