Post PM system, is it supposed to work?

The PM system on my jooBB/CM installation does not work. When I click on "Messages" in the user control panel, nothing happens. And when I click on a user and select "Send private message", i get a 404 error.

Is there a problem with my installation or is it a non-functional feature in JooBB?

I am using Joomla 1.5 and jooBB 0.9.1

I believe the default PM setup requires you to have installed and configured the Uddeim PM system from my memory. That is definitely the PM system that I use and it works, but forgive me as I don't exactly remember the setup steps.

I looked at my setup and believe that I had to look under JooCM setup and Interfaces and then under CM_Messages it should list the com_uddeim and it is published.

Boy it's tough going back and trying to remember everything I did 6 months ago to make a setup work so it's hell getting old. Evil Grin

I got it to work by installing UddeIM. However, I can't get the "Messages" link in the user control panel/interface. It just redirects to the user control panel/interface where the link was.

Any suggestions?

Good to hear that you are getting there. What do you mean by the "user control/panel interface"? Are you talking about the main section like when you click on the "community" menu at the top of this page?

Maybe you have a setting that's off? In the JooCM setup and the "Interfaces" menu choice, when you click on CM_Messages do you have these options set?

Name CM_Messages
Component com_uddeim
Component Icon components/com_joocm/images/icon-48-messages.png
URL
Client "Frontend"
Show Restriction "Online Users"
Published "Yes"

These are my interface settings and I have no issue.

My settings are exactly like yours, except if i click on the Messages link in the user/community panel it forwards me back to this same place.

My settings are:
Name: CM_MESSAGES
Component: com_uddeim
Component Icon: components/com_joocm/images/icon-48-messages.png
URL:
Client: Frontend
Show Restriction: Online Users
Published: Yes
