Although from an administrator point of view, Joo!CM may seem a nice user information repository, the way it is implemented causes a major annoyance for many visitors of the Joo!BB forum and, in fact, drive visitors away from the forum.
Here is why:
Normally, when someone visits a forum, he browses/reads through the forum and when he finds a topic he want to reply on he will login.
Unfortunately, after login, the visitor is redirected to the Joo!CM main view with all these icons he is not interested in at that moment.
In fact, it means that after a successfull logon, he will have to browse through the forum again to find his way back to the topic he wants to reply to.
Many visitors just give-up at that point and, annoyed as they are, leave the forum.
So, here is the requested feature:
Would it be possible to modify Joo!CM in such a way that, after successfull logon, the user is sent back to the page from where he clicked logon. That may also be beneficial for other community products that may become to depend on Joo!CM in the future.
Alternatively it could be implemented as a configuration setting in Joo!CM, in such a way that a page to redirect to after logon (and logoff) can be configured in Joo!CM and, if not configured, the user is redirected to the page from where he clicked logon or logoff.
Bert,
thank you very much for you request and very good suggestion. you are absolutely right. This feature will be available in next release 1.0.0 Phobos RC1.
