Post Latest posts

Hi

Is it possible somehow to exclude some categories from Latest posts?

If not, could it be included in a future patch? Smile

cheers

Tindragon,

sorry, it is not possible in current version. Anyway, I like the idea. Maybe I will be able to realize it today.

Robbie

[Edit]
Posts which are not available for public will be not showed. There is a permission check in the module.

Ahh a bit too fast on the trigger there I guess....

it's not EXACTLY what I was looking for Tongue Out

The settings looked just like what I needed, but after seeing it, it's a no go.
I wasn't thinking of a seperate module to display in either right or left side of my site, but instead of the View option to "Show Latest Items" in the Configuration Manager of Joo!BB.

I would like too see the latest items for 2 of my 3 categories in my forum, but not all of them, which right now is the only option.

But you are on the right trackSmile And thx for quick response and release of patch, very nice indeedSmile

Tindragon,

I thought you mean the module. Blush

Anyway, to implement latest posts on the board index is a good idea, too. Maybe there will be a RC2 tomorrow. We will see. Wink

Post Re: Latest posts

Hi again.

Sorry I wasn't clear in my first post about what I meantSmile
But the functionality of the module you made, is what I was looking for in the board index, if that makes sense.

You can see my forum http://fightingkittens.dk/index.php?option=com_joobb&view=board&layout=joobb&Itemid=65 here, and as you can see, the "Latest Posts" section is spammed with posts from the Madden category. It would be nice to be able to exclude that category, or even better, limit the number of posts to be shown in the "Latest Posts" for each category. So a max of 3 posts can be shown from each category for instance.

Hope it makes senseSmile

Anyways, again, thx a bunch for your time and effort m8Smile Excellent forum you have made!!

Post Re: Latest posts

Do you mean exclude posts from category X and Y from showing within the module?

If so, if Robbie can't find the time I can do a hard coded fix for you that will exclude certain category ID's. Can't be that hard.

Chris,

nice to see (read) you. Smile

Many thanks for your offer. But, please don't care about it. It is already done in latest post module 1.0.7. I also made changes to latest posts on board index. This will be available in RC2. I think there will be a new release on sunday. Wink

Very rare for me to encounter so much awesomness and so nice and helpfull people on a support forum. Says a bit about the quality and commitment. I LIKE! Yes

RC2 sounds like what I'm waiting for RobbieSmile

Tindragon,

Smile

no, there was a release on 09/19/2010 (1.0.0 Phobos RC2). Please have a look at Downloads. You will be now able to exclude categories in configuration manager for latest items. Smile

RC3 can also be expected next time.
