Hi,
Can any one pls help me to understand, what is the function of subscription in the forum?
Actually what i am trying to achieve in the forum is, all the users who are involved in a topic should get a mail notification that "Someone replied to this post or There is some update on this post".
I am not sure how can we do that in a joobb forum.
i will appreciate if anyone will help me out on this.
Thanks
Pushker.
Pushker,
subscription means, that the user will be notified via email when there is a reply to the topic.
There is no way to force a subscription. But you can set "Automated Subscription" to yes in the configuration. It means, that users "board settings" will be set to this value on registration. Further you can set this value to your existing users by synchronizing them. This way you will achive, that the field "Subscribe" on posting will be preset with the value "yes".
Please be in mind, that any user has the option to set the subscription to "no".

Thank Robbie for your time.
I got it.
But still Subscribe radio button is still coming as No by default even after setting "Automated Subscription" as yes.
This you can see while reply to this post also.

Pushker,
you are welcome.
Setting "Automated Subscription" in "Configuration Manager" only says, that board settings will be set to "yes" for new members when they register.
Please click in frontend on "My Board Settings" and set Automated Subscription to "yes". When you than create a new topic/reply, "Subscribe" will be set to "yes".
If you wish to set all users subscription settings to yes, please go to Joomla backend and than Joo!BB. Click on Joo!BB Tools, than "User Synchronization". Select Joomla group as "All Users". After this set "Automated Subscription" to yes and check "Update existing users" box. After clicking on "Perform", all existing users should be set to "yes".
But please be in mind, that any user is able to set his board settings by himself. So he will be able to set "Automated Subscription" back to "no".
