I believe the PHP on the Siteground.com servers is version 5. But regardless the problem is also happening on your forums, so that cant be it.

As for the image size and resolution, the smallest one I tried is 18KB with a 96 X 96 dots per inch resolution and attributes of 203W X 309H the file is jpeg

Avatar Blurry when uploaded

When I upload my an avatar to my site it is all blurry. This is also happening on these support forums but yet i see other users have uploaded there images just fine?!?!?! I have tried several different images of all file sizes and resolutions.

Im confused
