Post Re: JOOBB 0.9.2 Problem With Links

The update to 1.0.0 Phobos RC4 from 0.9.2 worked fine so far. I got a couple error messages, but it worked. I don't know anyway if this is something I could fix easily, and if it could be a source of troubles in the future...

Post Re: Upgrade from 0.9.1 to current version. Any big issues?

Hey there!
Just a quick question: -should the update to 1.0.X solve my old JOOBB 0.9.2 Problem With Links?

I must clear that the source for these error was probably my own fault, but I would be happy to know your thoughts before to try the update.

Of course I'm doing my backup first.

All the best,
Diego

Post Re: JOOBB 0.9.2 Problem With Links

Hi!, thanks for your reply. I'll try to answer the best as I can.

Quote by jhetrick62:These two topics are both over my head as it leads directly into programming and issues that I have not experienced or tested as my users just post basic info and poke fun at each other most of the time!

Yes, I understand. Anyway, all of the above worked perfectly with 0.7.7

Quote by jhetrick62:I don't have old links to test with nor have I ever run a different language so hopefully Robbie will look in on this one.

No problem. Anyway, it does the same either with old or new posts. I mean, the links feature is not working anymore for me.

Quote by jhetrick62:I would ask though, did you do the original upgrade from 7.7 to .9.0 and it all worked? If so, it broke after the last upgrade to .9.2? I'm sure that Robbie will need to know this.

Jeff

Well, I can't give you a good answer for that. Smile
...the problem is, I've upgraded from 0.7.7 to 0.9.2 all the round in just one phase as follows:

(0.7.7) -> (0.9.0 -> 0.9.1 -> 0.9.2)

It worked for many months with 0.7.7 without any upgrades, and then, everything in the same hour, I've upgraded to all the rest without a break! Smile

I know, I should have checked every feature between each update... but I've just tried the basics to see if it worked as expected, and never tried things like links and languages... Sad Smile

If it serves of something, I only can say that I've respected every protocol mentioned in the database migration, and the constitution for each table is as expected.

Thanks in advance!
Diego
P.S.: do you think if I wait for the public launch of 1.0.0 RC1 Phobos some of my problems will get a fix with the upgrade?

Post JOOBB 0.9.2 Problem With Links

Hi!, this is my first post here. I want to thanks to the developers for the wonderful work with Joo!BB. I'm using it since the release 0.7.7 and I'm very happy with it. I'm using my forum pretty much as a complement to add quick notices to my site and it is on a trial fashion, but I would like to launch it "publicly" anytime soon.

Anyway, it seems when I've upgraded from 0.7.7 to 0.9.2 some problems arised. I'm posting here because I'm not too sure if they are bugs or maybe I've mistaken something.

The first one is, it seems by some reason the updated install refuses to work with those links present inside posts. No matter if I try creating a new post, when I add the "" tags to any URL, then if you click there it appends a wrong prefix to the resulting URL, confusing each browser I've tried... it always add another "http://" without a reason... but I think sometimes it also fails while creating the long S.E.F. strings or something.

Well, I've tried everything, to not avail... and I can't fix it.

Another thing is, the forum does not work anymore with M17n, and now if you change the country, nothing happens. I already know that some people disagree with Multilang M17n, since it changes the contents from a few files inside the Joomla! core... but it always worked for me... until now! Smile

Honestly, I'm using Joo!BB since 0.7.7 was launched, and I feel extremely comfortable with it... so, I'll be very happy with any hints to learn how to fix this issue.

Excuse my poor english. All the best,
Diego
