Post Re: New Button Set - Doobeez Orange

I'll see about doing some more colors when i get a spare moment, i'm building a few sites at the mo, i will include the Photoshop PSD file with the zip file though so it should be easy enough for you to change it to any color you want it's only a 3 step gradient for the surrounding color.

Post Changing Nickname Field

Hi guys hope you don't mind this but i found it useful so i thought i'd post it here. In the registration on the board it asks for a "username" and a "nickname" i had a guy register for my forum and he was confused which on was his sign in name, so i changed the parameters for it so that instead of "nickname" it says "your name" as i have removed the feilds for "first name" amd "last name" as i thought it was asking people to give too many names alltogether. This is how i did it.

First to remove the "firstname" and "lastname" tag go to the joobb admin panel in your joomla back end and select "profile fields" you will see 2 fields on top: p_firstname and p_lastname unpublish these and they will no longer be on the registration page.

Now to change the "nickname" field locat this file on you server:

components/com_joobb/designs/templates/joobb/language/en-GB/joobb.ini

Scroll down to line 105 to this param:

JOOBB_NICKNAME=Nickname

and change it to:

JOOBB_NICKNAME=Your Name

or whatever you would like it to say, and now you have a little bit easier of a registration page.

Hope some of you find this usefull and i hope you don't mind me posting this here guys.

Post Re: registration problems

Hi thanks for getting back, i didn't realise that the joomla framework was been used to send the email. i didn't have a the joomla login module published as i wasn't using it because of community builders login mod. I have published the joomla login mod and just set it not to appear anywhere and it seems to have solved the problem. Slightly odd that it was working with my domains email address though and just not with hotmail. But is sorted now anyways.

Post SOLVED -- registration problems

Hi i'm having a problem registering new users. For some reason the activation email is not been sent if it is a hotmail address. It works fine with my email addresses that are through my domain name but hotmail.com and live.com do not get the email. They are showing as registered in my CP but not activated, i've tried with 4 accounts now through the joobb register form. I tried registering a hotmail address through the normal way using the community builder register and the email goes through fine so it's definately something in joobb.

I'm using:

joo bb 0.7.7 and joomla 1.59

Post SOLVED -- Error Message when starting a new topic

Hi i am getting this error message when i try to make a new post in my forum:

Fatal error: Call to a member function update() on a non-object in /home2/doobeezc/public_html/tutorials/components/com_joobb/system/joobbeditor.php on line 160

Not sure why this is happening but have just edited the files that were suggested for adsense to work, this doesn't look like a related problem though, any ideas?

ussing joo bb 0.7.7 and joomla 1.59

Post Re: Adsense?

Thanks Robbie, got the file and edited them as need be and had the ads up and running in less than 5 mins, now thats what i call support. Something that is unfortunately lacking with a lot of Joomla extensions.

Thanks again and i'll check back regularly and cintribute to the forums where i can. CoolCoolCool

Post Adsense?

Hi can anyone help me figure out fow to place adsense in the joo bb component? i woul hopefully like ads after the first post in each topic and maybe on the index page between categories. Anyone know how this can be done? i've just switched to joo bb from agora because i really like the clean feel of it but i really do need the ads.

Thanks in advance for any help.
